Haps ‘n Hangs Picks O’ The Week

bLOWpop! @ Fais Do Do
The New Ninjas bring it extra hard this time. Our regular menu of music, film and basement party vibe is spiced with a special screening of the critically acclaimed documentary of “This is the Life” by Ava DuVernay. This film captures the essence of a music scene that never really got it’s shine yet was the tea that todays most recognizable MC’s sipped from to garner their own successes. Through this film, Ava pays homage and sets the record straight. Both she and Medusa along with a few other special quests will be in attendance for a post-screening Q&A and DVD signing. And of course, the music will be live with Field Ninja J and Kim “Kizzie” Hill turning it out on the turntables.
The Fais Do Do kitchen will be selling catfish, buffalo wings and Sangria. It’s just $5 admission and doors open at 7:30 (early arrival is suggested) and the film starts at 8:00. Don’t sleep… you can’t go anywhere else and get all this… for 5 bones. TRUST!

Sunday March 22
Our mission is to showcase talented women artists and crafters. Bringing them together in a fun filled environment to promote and encourage female unity while providing a shopping, artsy and entertaining atmosphere.
Crafters and artist will have a chance to display their merchandise and put items up for sale. The Pink Parlour’s aim is to specialize in unique hand crafted items. All merchandise for sale will be noncommercial and designed by each individual crafter and artist. What we are looking for are items that are not mainstream, whether they be photos, paintings, jewelry, clothing or any other items made with love. No two crafters will be alike. Every crafter will be different from her neighbor, this way each artist and crafter harmonizes with the next. Our objective is to unite women and collaborate talent, bringing together unique items and art, at affordable prices.
The Pink Parlour Festival will also provide music and entertainment such as bands, female djs, talented burlesque dancers and other female acts. Goody bags filled with samples, treats, coupons (and to some lucky ladies Pink Parlour dollars), will be given out to the first 100 attendees. So ladies became part of history, be part of The Pink Parlour Festival, a unique and one of kind event to hit the west coast!
